LEGO ROBOTICS

CR Robotics student demonstrating programming project.

CR has been teaching LEGO Robotics in the Villupuram District for the past 14 years. Each week, we teach over 700 students at five Villupuram area schools that now include LEGO Robotics as part of their regular curriculum. We use LEGO WeDo, EV3, Spike Essential and Spike Prime kits.

In 2013, CR entered its first team in the First Lego League Robotics competition. Over 600,000 students participate in this worldwide competition including about 200 Indian teams. In 2019, the CR team won the Championship for South Indian Regional Competition. Previously, the CR team won First Place for its research projects on teaching coding without computers and on the challenge of getting clean drinking water to rural India villages. For three consecutive years prior to the Pandemic, the team participated in the Indian National Finals. CR’s 2020 team placed 3rd at Nationals in India’s First Lego League Robotics competition. The team has been sponsored by the India Stem Foundation and Ford Motor Pvt. Ltd.
